Summary of Discussion

We discussed how Odessa is located in the middle of no where on an oil field. The town started out of the oil boom and rush to make it rich. The towns population fluctuated greatly. This town grew to be large in a considerably short period of time. We discdussed what it would be like if there was still Racism like there was in the 80's. We discussed bobbie miles and his cocky nature and his need for attention after all he was the star of the team. Boobie believed he could fill the large Shoes of sean Crow who was the RB the previous year, they made it to the statechampionship and lost. As this book starts we have learned a many things, but the most important being that Permian high school and Odessa cared about one thing and one thing only, Football. Football was the Tradition of the town for years and years. When Friday night came around Everyone in the town of Odessa headed to the football field. The grandstands rumbled with the roar of thousands of fans as the panthers took the stage beneath the Friday Night Lights. It was game time.
